After Harley-Davidson introduced the electric LiveWire motorcycle in 2018, the plans were big enough but what the future brought might exceed them this year. The motorcycle company is turning LiveWire into its own brand. This is their unique chance to redefine electric motorcycles offering a whole new experience for the modern urban rider
The 2021 International Motorcycle Show scheduled on July 8th Harley-Davidson will be ready to introduce its first LiveWire branded motorcycle. Until then we have an image that was published on LiveWire’s website and this new version of the current Harley-Davidson LiveWire. At first sight, there are no major differences minor but you can spot the future LiveWire badging, instead of the familiar Harley-Davidson branding.
For the near future, LiveWire will focus mostly on urban bikes and the brand has planned to develop innovative technologies to stand out from the competition. To ensure selective showrooms for their products, the new LiveWire brand will rely heavily on Harley-Davidson’s dealership network. Without any specific details confirmed LiveWire will one of the few motorcycles brands capable of blending “digital and physical retail formats, tailoring the experience to the local market and allowing customers to discover LiveWire on their own terms.”
In a statement, Harley-Davidson CEO Jochen Zeitz said “One of the six pillars of The Hardwire Strategy is to lead in electric – by launching LiveWire as an all-electric brand, we are seizing the opportunity to lead and define the market in EV.” He went on to say LiveWire will “pioneer the future of motorcycling” and wants to become one of the most desirable electric motorcycle brands in the world.
