Roush-Tuned Ford F-150 Competes Against Ram 1500 TRX
by AutoExpert | 11 October, 2021
Could a Roush-modified Ford F-150 dethrone the Ram 1500 TRX, the current king of combustion-powered trucks? Drag races were held to see who could get the best time to answer that question. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure out which truck is superior after reading their specifications.
The TRX's 702 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque are provided by a 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 engine. This engine powers the truck's four wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox, and it can reach 60 mph (96 km/h) in less than 4 seconds under optimal conditions.
This Ford F-150 customized by Roush, on the other hand, features a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 with 650 hp and 610 lb-ft of torque, connected to a 10-speed automated gearbox. To start, the Ram has a huge advantage over the Ford and cruises to victory. Other races, starting from a standing or rolling position, also have this result.
Ford F-150 tested was an older model, so that's not a decent fight. The TRX should be put up against a modified Raptor F-150 for the most accurate comparison. According to Hennessey Performance, the new F-150 can outperform the TRX if given sufficient power.
