The Finest Muscle Car: Hennessey's 1,000 HP Mustang Shelby GT500

The Venom 1000 was developed by John Hennessey after he realized that the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 deserved extra power. There's a lot more horsepower in the Venom 1000 than in a Shelby GT500, and that's what makes it an ultimate beast.
Jason Haynes, the tuner's director of research and development, appears in a video that puts the car through its paces and demonstrates its capabilities.
The Mustang Shelby GT500 comes equipped with a 5.2-liter supercharged V8 that produces 760 hp and 625 lb-ft of torque (847 Nm). It's one of the greatest performance cars on the market, and Hennessey's version ups the ante. The kit produces a peak output of 1,000 hp, with torque increased to 850 lb-ft (1,152 Nm) by Hennessey.
Curiously, the car's original supercharger has been retained. However, the tuner has updated the stock supercharger cooling bricks, put a new supercharger pulley, and replaced the intercooler. Improved fuel lines and fittings, an air/oil separator, heavy-duty tensioners, and billet fuel rails are also included. The vehicle also incorporates a flex-fuel system, which allows it to run on E85 ethanol.
