Alpina Unveils Exclusive B8 GT For 60th Anniversary
by AutoExpert | 16 January, 2025
Alpina is celebrating its 60th anniversary in style with the exclusive B8 GT, an updated version of the BMW 8-Series Gran Coupe. This high-performance grand tourer, limited to just 99 units, sets new standards in power, speed, and luxury.
Under the hood, the Alpina B8 GT features a 4.4-liter bi-turbo V8 that now delivers 634 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque—boosts over both the previous B8 and even BMW’s M8. Although it takes a tenth longer to reach 62 mph (3.3 seconds) than the M8, it excels at higher speeds, reaching a top speed of 205 mph, which surpasses the M8's top speed of 190 mph.
Alpina didn’t just focus on raw numbers; they’ve refined the driving experience. A new center silencer enhances the V8’s soundtrack, while updates to the transfer case and e-differential improve agility. True to Alpina’s ethos, the B8 GT balances performance with comfort, making it as suitable for long road trips as for spirited drives.
Visually, the Alpina B8 GT stands out with carbon-fiber elements like a diffuser, air ducts, and dive planes, alongside Alpina’s signature 21-inch forged wheels. Buyers can choose from seven exterior colors, including two special bi-color finishes—blue or green paired with black—available on 20 of the 99 cars.
The Alpina B8 GT doesn’t just bring power and exclusivity; it also commands a premium. Prices start at €225,000 ($232,000), reflecting its status as a luxurious, high-performance grand tourer with only 99 units available.
