Bugatti Chiron Super Sport Test Driving its Maximum 273 MPH
by AutoExpert | 23 June, 2021
Bugatti Chiron Super Sport is entering its last testing phases. It reached its limited top speed of 440 km/h at the VW Ehra-Lessien facility.
This Super Sport takes luxury a little farther than Chiron Super Sport 300+. The latter’s maximum speed reached 490.48 km/h in 2019.
Bugatti used more or less 100 sensors during the test drive for recording the results and other important data, like air pressure and temperature. Similar to Super Sport 300+, this Chiron runs on an 8.0-liter W16 quad-turbo engine signed by Bugatti, reaching 1.587 hp and 1.600 Nm torque. The car’s transmission has also been upgraded, allowing it to change to the 7th transmission after reaching 403 km/h (250 mph).
According to Jachin Schwalbe, head of chassis development at Bugatti, the tests for 380 km/h have been successful, so now the team is working on improving the car’s maneuverability at the incredible speed of 440 km/h. Safety without any compromises – that is what Bugatti wants to reach.
The bodywork resembles Chiron Super Sport 300+, featuring a revised front fascia, a new splitter, an extended tail section, sporty wheels, and circular air vents.
Unlike Bugatti Chiron Super Sport’s edition limited to 30 units, this Chiron Super Sport will be available in 60 units.
