Sean Keunyoung Oh, a senior design student, introduces the VW ID.GAIA, a conceptual all-electric pickup designed to potentially compete with vehicles like the Ford F-150 Raptor.
This VW ID.GAIA concept envisions utilizing a skateboard platform and could borrow components, including the battery pack and electric motors, from existing VW EVs.
Visually, the ID.GAIA features an imposing and rugged design, highlighted by a gloss black element in the front, acting as a grille and connecting seamlessly to LED headlights. The front also incorporates a pronounced skid plate with tow hooks and a hood revealing a spacious frunk.
The concept's robust design extends to its wheels, fitted with mud-terrain tires, and its generously sized cabin. Measuring 231 inches in length, the VW ID.GAIA promises ample bed space. The rear design is characterized by an LED light bar and a unique tailgate consisting of three sections, doubling as storage cubbies and foldable steps for convenient bed access.
Additionally, a full-size spare wheel and tire are housed under the bed floor, enhancing the concept's practicality and utility.
