A Sneak Peek At The 2025 Citroen C5 Aircross: The Ultimate Family SUV

Citroën’s next-generation C5 Aircross is nearly ready for prime time, with a design that’s “95% ready” for production, according to Citroën designer Pierre Leclercq. Set to debut next year, this second-generation model aims to stand out while staying true to Citroën’s family-first ethos.
At the Brussels Motor Show, Leclercq explained that the concept version unveiled last year is essentially a preview of the production model, with only minor tweaks. “This is what we call a teaser,” he said. “We take a production car, we beef it up, and that’s it.”
The new C5 Aircross shares its platform with models from Peugeot, Vauxhall, and DS, but Leclercq emphasized that it’s been carefully designed to reflect Citroën’s core values of comfort, space, and functionality. “We tried to have a vehicle that really works with our values: family room, functionality, and comfort,” he said. This philosophy extends to the interior, which remains under wraps but will follow the practical and user-friendly approach seen in the latest C3 and C4.
One major highlight is the focus on rear-seat comfort. Unlike its sportier sibling, the Peugeot 3008, the C5 Aircross prioritizes interior space with a high roofline that peaks over the second row. “This is very much a family vehicle,” Leclercq said. “We’re going up for the second row. That says, ‘Hey, this is a car that is also made for the second row.’”
Leclercq hinted at the possibility of introducing a third row in the future, although the C5 Aircross is officially a five-seater. “We will talk more about that when the car comes out,” he said, leaving the door open for future flexibility.
