Nissan Takes a Retro Twist With Cube Retro Renovation Program For Certified Pre-Owned Cars
by AutoExpert | 22 January, 2024
Nissan is going out of the box with its new Cube Retro Renovation initiative in Japan. The manufacturer has partnered with Nara Nissan Motor Co. to put a new spin on certified pre-owned (CPO) automobiles.
This program enables buyers to purchase a certified pre-owned Nissan Cube that has been modified to improve its look by replacing old components with new ones for a personal touch.
From 1998 until 2019, the Nissan Cube was a popular subcompact, having started off as a success in Japan. The Cube Retro Renovation initiative, which arose from a concept during the Tokyo Auto Salon, sparked significant public interest.
Nissan is pleased with the response and will start selling just 20 vehicles as a trial run on January 22. However, the program's cost is a problem, with estimates indicating that the car price may double owing to the refresh and customization options.
Despite the extra price, consumers obtain a car with a customized appearance and interior, giving it a new and distinct personality. Nissan stresses flexibility, working with clients to choose options that meet their needs and budget. While not for everyone, this innovative strategy makes old automobiles more enticing and prolongs their freshness.
