Kia Syros Launches In India: Urban SUV With Gas, Diesel, And EV Options Coming Soon
by AutoExpert | 19 December, 2024
Kia has unveiled the all-new Syros for the Indian market, a compact urban SUV that combines style, practicality, and advanced features. Measuring 3,995 mm in length, it matches the Indian-spec Sonet in size but offers slightly more width and height, giving it a more commanding presence.
The Kia Syros stands out with its daring design, high ground clearance, and extensive plastic cladding. The LED headlights and sleek black trim give it a modern edge, while the grille and lower bumper intakes adds a clean, futuristic touch. At the rear, slim L-shaped LED taillights wrap around the glass, and a minivan-inspired tailgate completes the look.
Inside, the Kia Syros boasts a high-tech 30-inch digital cockpit featuring dual 12.3-inch displays and a 5-inch screen for climate controls. The rear bench is a game-changer in the segment, offering sliding, reclining, and ventilated seating functions. Other premium features include a panoramic sunroof, 64-color ambient lighting, a 4-way power driver’s seat, an 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, wireless charging, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility.
The Syros, which shares the reinforced K1 platform with Hyundai models like the Exter and Casper, promises excellent ride quality despite its compact dimensions thanks to its longer wheelbase and refined suspension setup.
At launch, the Kia Syros will offer both gasoline and diesel options. The 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine produces 118 hp and 172 Nm of torque, while the 1.5-liter diesel delivers 114 hp and 250 Nm. Both engines are paired with either manual or automatic transmissions. In the future, we also expect a fully electric variant. Early 2025 will see the release of the Syros, with pre-orders beginning in January and pricing information coming in February.
