Meet McLaren X-1 Concept, a specially designed car, the work of the Special Operations division at McLaren. Why was it created, you ask? Because a brand's client had some crazy dreams about how his car should be like and his money bought him that car.
We must mention that this person already owed a beautiful McLaren F1, along with a 12 C and a Mercedes Benz McLaren SLR at the time that this car came to his mind. And like that wasn't enough, he ordered a special car, which would have 12C's performances, but a special original body.
Cars like 1959 Buick Electra, 1961 FACEL Vega, 1971 Citroen SM, 1953 Chrysler D'Elegance Ghia, and 1939 Mercedes-Benz 540K have served as mains sources of inspiration for the nowadays exclusive car.
The final design of the concept was offered by the Korean Hong Yeo. The entire project took over two years of hard work and that is because every single detail of the car has been specially designed for this client. The McLaren airbrake wing, situated on the car's rear, is made of aluminum and nickel. The rest of the body is made of carbon fiber and painted in piano black, with few details left to reflect the material's own shine.
The interior of the car comes in a contrasting color - Nappa Harissa Red. While you admire the pictures of this car, you will find it obvious that Ferrari has a strong competitor in building special cars for special clients, which is McLaren.
