Will The Electric '67 Mustang Roar Again?
by AutoExpert | 8 July, 2024
Charge Cars, the optimistic creators of the beautiful and electric '67, are no longer in business. Remember that the Charge Cars '67 is an electric version of the Ford Shelby Mustang from 1967.
It was supposed to have 536 hp and 1,106 lb-ft of torque, a contemporary interior, a floor-mounted battery pack, and a brand-new steel body. Yet, Charge Cars needed to attract purchasers. It seems like recent times have been difficult for the company.
“Like many in the EV space, we have recently faced significant challenges. It is thus with deep sadness that we inform you that, as of May 31, 2024, Charge Cars Ltd. has been placed into Administration.” Cork Gully LLP's Mark Smith and Stephen Cork announced in a post that they would act as joint administrators, managing the company's operations, assets, and legal affairs.
Sadly, Charge Cars never produced a single production version of the 1967 Mustang, despite its excellent appearance; the £350,000 (around $440,000) price tag likely played a significant role in this. Charge Cars remains optimistic about the potential revival of the '67 Mustang in the future.
“We truly believe this is not the end for the ’67, and we are exploring all avenues to get back on track,” the company added.
