Volkswagen SEAT withdraws from Russian markets. Find out why!
by AllAutoExperts | 21 November, 2014
Russian fans of SEAT have only a month to purchase one of the favorite models from the Spanish company. That's because Volkswagen has decided to withdraw the brand from Russian Federation.
The reason is justified by the extremely low interest to this brand but also Russia's economic collapse, caused in turn by sanctions imposed by the EU and the US. You can add the devaluation of the Russian ruble and falling oil prices, which directly affects the automotive industry.
As SEAT is positioned last in the sales of VW, Germans decided not to invest money continuing to offer it on Russian markets where the sales fell by 13% in the last period of 2014.
