The New Peugeot 408 Fastback Has Been Teased
by AutoExpert | 1 June, 2022
Peugeot has released the first official teaser for the new 408. Spy photographers have captured the model in action as it was being tested. A departure from the previous 408 sedans/station wagons may be seen in the shape of the new Peugeot 408 model.
A section of the front grille, a part of the strongly styled LED headlamps, Peugeot's new logo, and the 408 writing above the grille are seen in the teaser. According to Peugeot, the new 408 is a new species of Peugeot that blends SUV-like characteristics with a powerful fastback shape.
The 408 will most likely rest on an extended version of the EMP2 chassis, similar to the Citroen C5 X. The forthcoming Peugeot 408 is anticipated to be powered by a range of plug-in hybrid drivetrains producing between 177 and 355 horsepower. Possible new mild-hybrid 1.2-liter Puretech engine for base models.
Furthermore, a Peugeot e-408 powered solely by electric motors isn't out of the question. Towards the end of June, when the new 408 makes its debut, we will gain additional information about it. There's a good chance that the new 408 will be sold outside of Europe, according to the company.
