All-new Hongqi H5's first photographs have appeared online ahead of its debut at Beijing Auto Show next month. The new sedan resembles the bigger Hongqi H9, which is billed as a competitor to the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5-Series.
A redesigned grille with chrome-finished straight strakes and the company's iconic red flag design flowing down the bonnet was the first step in Hongqi's style revamp of the H5. Rather than the primary headlights, you'll find units holding the LED daytime running lights instead. The primary headlights and high beams are located lower on the bumper.
The premium sedan's drastic redesign continues with an all-new appearance at the back that is similar to that of the bigger H9 model. LED lights are joined by a noticeable light bar.
In comparison to the previous-generation Hongqi H5, the inside has undergone significant alterations. A portrait-oriented infotainment screen has been tastefully fitted into the dash. The vehicle also boasts a digital gauge cluster and a three-spoke steering wheel with touch-sensitive controls.
The shot also reveals a compact shifter, red leather seats, center console, door panels, and steel air vents. According to rumors, Hongqi H5 will debut with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder motor, however, a 1.5-liter turbocharged plug-in hybrid engine will also be available.
