This concept car was presented at the IAA Mobility 2021 Munich Motor Show as a Cupra Tavascan Extreme-E. Soon, the all-electric car will make an appearance in the experimental Extreme E off-road racing series, developed in cooperation with ABT Sportsline.

As part of the Tavascan's development, engineers used natural materials. 2022 Cupra Tavascan Extreme-E utilizes flax fibers from the flax plant instead of carbon fiber, which is widely used in lightweight racing vehicles. This technology, according to Cupra, can be readily applied to production models with no compromises.

The vehicle's structure, for example, is made from a variety of 3D printed components. According to reports, the lead time for manufacturers of replacement parts will be significantly reduced by utilizing 3D printing.

Other advantages include fast component modifications without the need for costly and laborious equipment.
2022 Cupra Tavascan Extreme-E is powered by a 54-kWh battery placed in the back, and it can accelerate from 0-62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) in only 4 secs.

Furthermore, the design is claimed to be a preview of the Tavascan electric road vehicle, which will be produced in 2024. Due to its MEB base, a road-going Tavascan will match little mechanically with this concept, but certain design aspects may be carried over.

Two electric engines in the front and one at the back were featured in a previous Tavascan concept. The total power system of 302-hp (225 kW) allowed the car to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 6.5 secs.
