Rolls-Royce Will Make A Dramatic Leap To Electric Vehicles
by AutoExpert | 28 September, 2021
Rolls-Royce is ready to make some significant announcements concerning the company's future. Car electrification and the decision to build hybrid models are the most important issues here. When the first Rolls-Royce pure electric car is released, it will meet all the high standards set by the brand.
Even as far back as 2011, when it unveiled the Phantom Experimental Electric, the firm was making attempts to produce all-electric vehicles (102EX). This was propelled by two electric motors with a combined output of 394-hp and 800 lb-ft of torque.
Despite the prototype's success at shows and passing all essential tests, the battery prevented the device from being mass-produced. Only 200 km of range could be obtained after the modifications because of the battery charging too slowly. As a result, the carmaker has stopped mass-producing anything.
To top it all off, in 2016 the BMW Group Vision Next 100 program revealed a concept. Over three years, the concept was shown in several countries, but it eventually returned to the production facility and was forgotten about.
