The fight for EV supremacy is being waged on two fronts: economical family vehicles and extreme hypercars. In recent months, we've seen several extremely powerful cars emerge, with the Rimac Nevera grabbing the most attention, but another amazingly powerful all-electric racer has recently arrived: the Pininfarina Battista.
This automobile has gotten a lot of buzz in recent months, and we've seen plenty of teaser pictures, but we're happy that it's now officially on US territory. Automobili Pininfarina's first production automobile has made its public premiere in California, ahead of its Monterey Car Week appearance.
The production-spec Automobili Pininfarina Battista is the US's first way to bring a whopping 1,877 hp output and enjoy looking at the bare carbon-fiber exterior, claiming to be the world's first pure-electric super GT. The outside includes finished Impulso forged aluminum-alloy wheels, while the inside has black leather Pilota seats with quilted Iconica Blu Alcantara upholstery as a choice. According to Pininfarina, the Battista is available in 128 million distinct colors and fabric combos.
Battista will also display its distinctive soundtrack and features a core audio frequency of 54 Hz. A 120-kWh battery and four electric engines provide 1,877 hp and 1,696 lb-ft of torque to drive this monster. The Battista will reach 60 mph in under 2 seconds and will set you back $2.2 million.
Automobili Pininfarina's Chief Product and Engineering Officer, Paolo Dellachà, stated that Battista will deliver an exhilarating all-around experience on road and track, whether in the city and out on the open highway.
The arrival of the first production-ready prototype of Automobili Pininfarina's pure-electric super GT on California's roadways marks the start of an amazing new chapter in its evolution. As the carmaker approach the first client deliveries later this year, this is a big milestone and a tremendously satisfying occasion.
Monterey Car Week started on August 6th, but the big unveilings will begin on August 12th and go through August 15th.
