The most efficient version of C-Klasse is the current C63 AMG, powered by a 6.2 liter aspirated V8 engine, which most likely will not be equipped on the next generation of C63 AMG. AMG officials, quoted by the British magazine Autocar, said that they are working on a new 4.0-liter V8 engine turbocharged.
This new engine is developed along with a future 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that will be equipped on models A45 AMG and CLA45 AMG. The future turbo 4.0L V8 will develop at least 450 hp but could reach up to 600 hp. Ola Källenius, head of AMG said: "We have already started to downsize our engines and now we're using the 5.5-liter version and we will continue this trend in the future."
