New Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport Brings More Power, More Style

On May 31, the new Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport will make its formal appearance. Here's another teaser from WV, adding to the collection that has been building up to this point.
Aside from a redesigned front fascia and improved headlights, the Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport also has an illuminated large Volkswagen emblem on the grille.
In the back, new taillights sit atop a large roof spoiler. New 19-inch wheels are standard, and 17-pound Warmenau forged wheels are an optional upgrade. Volkswagen claims the Clubsport will have more power than any other front-wheel-drive GTI, although nothing is known about the improvements to the underlying mechanics.
A digitally controlled adaptive chassis control is an aftermarket option, and an electronically controlled front differential lock controls the power. Additionally, only the Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport can lap the Nürburgring in a unique driving mode.
This is fitting, given that the Nürburgring is the home of Volkswagen's new hot hatchback. It will have more power than the current GTI, which has 241 horsepower. At the Nürburgring, Volkswagen will compete in the ADAC 24-hour race and launch the Clubsport.
