For the first time in almost a decade, Toyota has completely revamped the Tundra. Because of this, it's no wonder the truck wants to make a big impression at SEMA. The new Toyota TRD Desert Chase Tundra, built on the Tundra TRD Pro and inspired by desert racing support vehicles, will be the show's star.

The pickup's widebody package, which includes protruding fenders and 18-inch forged aluminum wheels dressed in 37-inch General Grabber X3 tires, gives it an unmistakable sporty look. Toyota TRD Desert Chase Tundra has a unique roll cage with Rigid lighting that can be automatically moved up and down, as well as a tubular front bumper and a long-travel suspension.

Because it was designed as a support vehicle, the bed includes all an off-road racer could need. This includes off-road tools, such as a specially designed custom mounted jack, as well as a 15 lbs CO2 canister, gasoline, and water storage containers. Additionally, there are two replacement tires and an ARB Tred Pro Recovery Board to help in the recovery effort.

There's an all-new i-Force Max powerplant under the bonnet, which includes a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6, a nickel-metal hydride battery, and an electric engine placed between the motor and a ten-speed automatic gearbox. It gives Toyota TRD Desert Chase Tundra a combined power of 437 hp (326 kW / 443 PS) and torque of 583 lb-ft (790 Nm).

Toyota disclosed plans to provide a dealer-installed raise kit and other extras earlier this year. Thanks to a modified 2022 Tundra Limited with the TRD Off-Road kit, we now have a look at them. In addition to the extra ground clearance, the TRD lift package improves the approach, departure, and breakover angles by 5, 1, and 2°. A TRD skid plate, TRD cast aluminum running boards, and a TRD Off-Road wheel and tire kit are among the other accessories available.

Additionally, Toyota TRD Desert Chase Tundra comes equipped with a bed extension, a retractable tonneau cover, a bed mat, a dash cam, and bed storage compartments.  More than 100 different options are available for the revamped pickup, and these are just a handful. Power is provided by a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 that isn't hybrid. Compared to the earlier 5.7-liter V8, it now has 389 hp and 479 lb-ft (649 Nm) of torque.
