New Pop-Up Roof Turns Suzuki Jimny Into The Ultimate Camper
by AutoExpert | 17 July, 2024
The Japanese company White House Camper has just added a pop-up top to the off-road Suzuki Jimny, which is based on the larger five-door bodystyle. White House Camper unveiled the concept in blueprint form prior to its July 20th, 2024, premiere at the Tokyo Camper Show.
In the pictures, we can see that the change will increase the Suzuki's height by 5.7–5.9 inches, necessitating the removal of the factory roof. This design allows owners to enter and exit the tent on the car's roof without the need for a ladder.
Upon deployment, the Jimny's pop-up roof considerably raises the cabin's internal height, allowing for more freedom of movement inside. Future owners can easily set up the tent, which can accommodate two adults. The White House Camper also notes that, during an emergency evacuation or natural catastrophe, it might be helpful to sleep in a car.
Introduced in January 2023, the five-door Suzuki Jimny was a more practical alternative to its shorter counterpart. At 156.9 inches in length, the longer Jimny is 13.4 inches longer than the variant with a short wheelbase.
Before 2030, it is expected that the next redesign will have a hybrid powertrain and an all-electric Jimny. On the other hand, a much-anticipated pickup is being considered for addition to the Jimny lineup by Suzuki, according to reports.
