Mercedes-AMG GT3 EDITION 55 To Celebrate The Company's 55th Anniversary
by AutoExpert | 24 August, 2022
AMG originally competed on the world's racetracks 55 years ago. Now the company is marking this occasion with a new limited edition vehicle, the Mercedes-AMG GT3 EDITION 55. The new model is based on the Mercedes-AMG GT3 and will be limited to only five units. However, Mercedes-AMG hasn't sought to have it FIA homologated.
This means that the automobile cannot compete in FIA races. On the other hand, Mercedes-AMG has not been forced to restrict their car in order to comply with racing regulations.
Therefore, the 6.3-liter V8 will produce 650 hp, which is 100 hp more than the regular GT3. In the meantime, the exterior is MANUFAKTUR alpine grey with red accents that match the color scheme and the matte texture of the aero parts.
To distinguish this unique version from the others, a 55th-anniversary emblem has been placed on the rear wing next to the AMG badge. Inside, plaques that read "EDITION 55-1 OF 5" are affixed on the center console and the anniversary emblem is sewn on the seats. To pay tribute to Germany's racing heritage, silver accents have been added to the seatbelts.
A Bosch DDU 11 high-resolution display is located behind the steering wheel and displays crucial data like engine speed, temperatures, lap times, and gear. Start the vehicle and you'll see the 55th-anniversary logo on the screen. As a bonus, all five purchasers will also receive a unique watch from IWC Schaffhausen.
The chassis number of the racecar is inscribed on the back of the grade 5 titanium Pilot's Watch Chronograph Edition AMG. The Mercedes-AMG GT3 EDITION 55 will set you back a whopping $624,025.
