McLaren P1 Gets A Carbon Fiber Limited Edition
by AllAutoExperts | 14 January, 2016
Yes, the P1 is no longer being built. Five of these discontinued supercars will be receiving a special edition carbon fiber treatment from McLaren's Special Operations division.
Originally, it was supposed to be a total of 20 cars, but the number of limited edition was reduced to only five. The edition is dubbed McLaren P1 Carbon Series and will have new carbon fiber body parts, red accents, side skirts, spoiler, rear diffuser, and a P1 badge on the front and rear splitter.
These changes will cost around $200,000 and even if the body weight was reduced, it did not improve the performance of the supercar.
Apparently the Carbon Series is a style only edition and it is nice to see the P1 getting a proper farewell with the carbon treatment.
