Rumors Suggest the New Kia EV9 Must Review Its Documents Before Traveling Abroad The all-electric Kia EV9 has finally arrived in Australia, but it's not yet ready to take over the Australian roads. Local engineers are working diligently to ensure the suspension and steering tune are perfectly suited for local conditions.

Similar to Hyundai vehicles, Kia is investing in local ride and handling upgrades to guarantee quality and safety for customers. This work began at Kia's global center of research and development in Namyang, Korea, before the Korean Kia experts traveled to Australia to collaborate with the local team.

According to Kia's Australian chief ride and handling engineer, Graeme Gambold, the Kia EV9 is a comfortable, confident, and surprisingly nimble vehicle, considering its dimensions and weight. In line with its size and mass, the local tuning program is focusing on Australian road requirements to make the EV9 an appropriate and comfortable family cruiser.

The EV9 is being designed not only to fit the urban landscape but also to provide enjoyment for long rides and challenging routes. Gambold revealed that this was the first time the engineering crew tuned the ride of an EV using Hyundai's E-GMP platform, which includes self-leveling shocks at the rear. This system keeps the vehicle at high standards regardless of heavy loads and helps ensure traction, whether there's only the driver onboard or an entire family.

Details regarding local specifications for the Kia EV9 haven't been disclosed yet, but the automaker confirmed that the new model would be available in standard range, rear-wheel drive with a 76.1 kWh battery, and also in an all-wheel-drive form with a 99.8 kWh battery.

Thanks to its Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA2), which enhances adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capabilities and lane-following assist, the SUV is making headlines. Additionally, the HDA2 setup can execute lane changes once the turn signal is engaged.

Kia EV9

Overall, this seven-seater all-electric SUV is dedicated to innovative EV technology and comes equipped with advanced features. Similar to its big brother, the EV6's success, interest in the EV9 is growing, and the company plans to produce 100 units per month.
