Jaguar Debuts Its New I-Type 6 Formula E Race Car
by AutoExpert | 1 December, 2022
The new Jaguar I-Type 6 electric racing vehicle has been introduced by Jaguar TCS Racing, and it's being hailed as the most cutting-edge and energy-efficient Jaguar race car ever. The vehicle is a Gen3 racer with front and rear powertrains and will make its racing debut in January.
The overall regenerative power is 600 kW, with 250 kW coming from the front motor generator and 350 kW from the back.
It has double the regeneration capacity of a Gen2 vehicle and does away with the requirement for traditional rear brakes. In addition to the improved regeneration, the new Jaguar I-Type 6 now generates up to 469 horsepower and is 163 pounds lighter.
The Jaguar I-Type 6's max speed has increased to 200 mph as a result of the reduction in weight and increase in power. The racing cars for Jaguar will soon be sporting a new livery that mixes carbon black, satin white, and gold. The vehicles' asymmetrical appearance also helps spectators distinguish between drivers Mitch Evans and Sam Bird.
