Icona Vulcano – a Chinese volcanic performance hyper car!
by AllAutoExperts | 21 April, 2013
Icona Vulcano is the first car that the newly established Chinese company proposes to millionaires.
Specialists with a rich history in the automotive world like the former Nissan designer - Samuel Chuffart, the engineer - Claudio Lombardi, responsible for Lancia cars, which competed in the World Rally Championship in the 80s, are part of the new company.
Icona Vulcano surprises us with a very nice design, with a carbon fiber body, aluminum panels, 2 seat coupes, and 4.45 meters long compact overall: with this design the model can easily enter the sports cars top such as Ferrari LaFerrari or McLaren P1.
For the future model series, the officials announced - two propulsion systems, both Hybrid. On the one hand, we have the combination of a noble V12 and an electric motor (H-Competizione) resulting in a maximum power of 950 horsepower transmitted to the rear axle and a performance of 2.9 seconds for 0-100 km/h and a 350 km/h maximum speed.
On the other hand, an H-Turismo will be available, which involves a twin-turbo V6 engine under the front hood and two electric motors on the rear axle.
The total power, in this case, will reach 870 horsepower, but by using electric motors, Icona Vulcano will operate in a 4x4 regime, increasing in this way the handling safety. The 0-100 km/h start is only 0.1 seconds weaker, starting in 3.0 seconds, while the total weight is 1,380 kg (compared to the V12`s 1.6 tons ).
The gearbox is sequential with 7-speed in both cases and the tachometer is graduated up to 10,000 rpm! For the moment, it was not communicated at any price, even an estimated one.
