Called Genesis G90 or EQ900 on the market of South Korea, the new Hyundai Flagman is coming to take over the Estafeta from the old Equus. The limousine thus gives rise to a new class in the Korean car manufacturer's range and claim attention in the segment to which it belongs.
We cannot say that it is even the most feared rivals for the Germans, but we must recognize that the new Genesis G90 looks even better.
The sedan is armed with extra brands and the designers are responsible for a look worthy of the premium, even though it mirrored a lot of common features to the German and British limousines. The large grille, chrome inserts, multi-spoke wheels, or vertical lights are just some of the elements that give it a special look to the new G90.
The interior is also adorned. Leather upholstery is combined with buttons and brushed aluminum inserts, touches of piano black and blue ambient light, and the center console are extended to the rear panel where hosts the air conditioning system and refrigerator.
Mostly, we see strong similarities with the interior of the Audi A8, which speaks of Hyundai opted for a cabin as sober. So the rear seat will be treated royally, with plenty of space available guaranteed by the wheelbase 3,160 mm.
To the Hyundai, engines come two V6 engines, one of 3.8 liter GDI and one of 3.3 liters T-GDI, turbo-aspirated. The latter produces 370 horsepower and 510 Nm of torque delivered to the all-wheel-drive system H-TRAC. The new range is powered by a V8 5.0-liter, the engine also found on the flagship model of Kia.
As you can see Hyundai Genesis G90 is equipped with everything necessary weapons to persuade more customers looking for a premium luxury car but which does not aspire to the status and prices of A8, 7 Series, or S-Class. It remains to be seen what will be the price of the car market in Europe where the new G90 will come only in the second half of 2016.
