Grounded G2: The Electric RV With A Range Of Over 250 Miles
by AutoExpert | 19 October, 2023
A startup called Grounded is giving the BrightDrop Zevo 600 electric delivery vehicle a makeover, turning it into an electric RV known as the G2, priced at $195,000. The G2 stands out with unique badging and rooftop solar panels that can generate up to 640 watts of power.
The real appeal of the G2 lies in its interior, offering a spacious 615 square feet of living space with a modular design. Buyers have the flexibility to choose from a range of modules and customize their layout. These modules are mounted on rails, enabling owners to adapt and reconfigure the interior as needed.
Inside, the possibilities are endless, including various bedding options, multiple seating arrangements, and a dinette. Choices extend to a queen-sized bed, seating for up to seven people, Starlink internet connectivity, a dry-flush toilet, and a kitchen complete with a sink, induction stove, and fridge. The G2 retains the powertrain from the Zevo 600, offering all-wheel drive and a 165 kWh battery pack, providing a range of over 250 miles!
However, Grounded enhances this setup with an additional 10 kWh battery to power the interior, which can be charged from the vehicle's primary battery as well as the solar panels.
The company's CEO, Sam Shapiro, emphasizes the G2's adaptability and modular interior design, stating, "We’ve designed the G2 to be as flexible as possible, and our truly modular interior delivers on the promise of a continually upgradable RV interior. Over time, as your lifestyle changes and your needs evolve, the vehicle can change with you."
Grounded is ready to start deliveries this month and is currently accepting orders with a refundable deposit of $1,000.
