Design study: Seat Roadster, a possible rival of the Mazda MX-5.

If we were to think about it, Seat would be the perfect manufacturer of a genuine rival for the legendary Mazda MX-5. We actually don't quite understand why it hasn't happened yet. Good thing that there were some practitioners of this idea, at least.
David Cava has made an internship at the Seat's design department and, by the end of his internship, he has created a little roadster concept, with a front placed engine and back rear-wheel drive. If this formula sounds familiar to you, then you aren't the only one.
Actually, Cava himself says that his design study was thought in order to compete with the legendary Mazda MX-5 (in case it would come to be a series product, which is very improbable).
According to the designer, the car was conceived with character and fun to drive. At the same time, the young designer's dreams have shown his the best combination for a propulsion system: a TSI engine of 1.4 liters with an electric engine, which would reach a complete power of 240 hp, while the total weight should be less than 1000 kg.
