The Lotus 340R is a very limited edition made by Lotus based on Elise. The difference between the two cars was the weight and designation.
The 340R weighs only 1,500 lbs and can basically demolish any track out there. There were only 340 units made, hence the name, and none of them ever got to the USA. However, a guy has just listed this sports car on eBay for the amount of $75,000.
The bad news is that the US doesn't allow this car on public roads, so this would be your super lightweight track toy.
The 340R has 177 horses under the hood and a power/weight ratio similar to Ferrari 360 Modena.
