Citroen has already completed a test session with a prototype for the WTCC based on WRC Citroen DS3 attended by Sebastien Loeb.
Citroen announced in September of last year that it analyzes the opportunity to participate in the World Touring Car Championship beginning from season 2014 with Sebastien Loeb, who will retire completely from the WRC at the end of this year.
More recently, the French manufacturer announced this week that the final decision will be announced by the end of June. The Citroen decision depends on the FIA: global forum prepare a comprehensive change in the technical regulation, which provides for the elimination of the current type Super car 2000.
Initially, the idea was that in 2014 both two regulations would run in parallel before the full introduction in 2015, but Citroen has insisted for the new rules to enter fully into application in 2014. Until now, the only builders who have confirmed their presence in the WTCC in 2014 were Honda and Lada.
