Changan Qiyuan E07 Bridges The Gap Between SUV And Pickup
by AutoExpert | 17 January, 2024
Changan's latest creation, the Qiyuan E07, is not just a concept; it's a bold step towards blending the best of crossovers and pickups.
Unveiled in September and now confirmed through Chinese Ministry filings, the Changan Qiyuan E07 stands out with its unibody pickup design reminiscent of vehicles like the Hyundai Santa Cruz and Honda Ridgeline.
Maintaining the essence of the initial concept, the Changan Qiyuan E07 boasts a distinctive feature: a sliding glass panel that fully encloses the bed, aiming to bridge the gap between trucks and SUVs. With a length of 199 inches, slightly longer than the Hyundai Santa Cruz, this electric model provides ample space for five occupants.
However, details about the bed length and battery size remain undisclosed. What we do know is that the E07 packs an electric punch, with its motor delivering 338 hp and a top speed of 125 mph. Moreover, there's a dual-motor version in the pipeline, promising a combined output of 590 hp and a top speed of 130 mph.
Images from the concept version reveal Changan Qiyuan's vision for the E07 as a practical yet premium vehicle. With glamping tents and stylish luggage on display, it seems more geared towards accommodating an active lifestyle than hauling construction materials. The attractive design and the potential for transporting larger items, like furniture, could make the Changan Qiyuan E07 an appealing choice for those seeking both practicality and sophistication.
