Canoo Light Tactical Vehicle, a newly created electric vehicle, is the latest example of the U.S. Army's growing involvement in electric transportation. For now, the Canoo LTV will be used for testing and demonstration purposes.
It is styled similarly to the company's forthcoming Pickup, but it has a single cab, a higher suspension, and 32-inch all-terrain tires. In addition to the basic model's planned 500+ horsepower, the LTV is available with a patented all-wheel-drive system that can produce up to 600 hp.
The Canoo Light Tactical Vehicle also has a new front bumper with what seem to be D-ring attachments, among other tweaks. Also, the rear and bed have been customized. It was also noted by the manufacturer that the LTV was built to last and provide safety for its occupants and its battery pack.
The model's carbon Kevlar reinforcements are complemented by a flexible flatbed platform that lets the vehicle serve as a pickup, a flatbed truck, and a cargo van. The LTV, according to Canoo CEO Tony Aquila, is a major step forward in demonstrating the use of their technology, even in the most challenging of tactical environments.
