Porsche showcased a modified 968 model with a distinct body design created by the fashion label L'Art de L'Automobile in 2021. Recently, Porsche released a video featuring the unique vehicle driving around California in a visually appealing manner.
The 968 marked the culmination of Porsche's front-engine, four-cylinder model lineup that began with the 924 in the 1970s. It was only produced in the United States from 1992 to 1995 and was available in both coupe and convertible body styles.
The altered 968 model, referred to as the 968 L'Art, features a sleek front-end design that eliminates the pop-up headlights seen on the original model. The 968 L'Art model is unique in that it does not have any kind of roof. Instead, the back of the vehicle has an angular raised section that includes a nacelle behind each occupant.
Additionally, the taillights on the car are full-width and have the word "KAR" integrated into the lamps on the passenger side, making for a distinctive look. When the 968 L'Art was first released, Porsche did not disclose any information about the vehicle's powertrain specifications.
Typically, the models were equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produced 236 horsepower and 225 pound-feet of torque. However, Porsche also manufactured 14 cars with a turbocharged engine that delivered a more powerful 305 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. It is thus impossible can say with certainty which of them fuels the 968 L'Art.
