Alfa Romeo will be bringing its Giulia GTA and GTAm sports sedans to compete in the legendary Hillclimb at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. When the 1.86-km (1.16-mile) climb takes place this weekend, fans in the UK will get the opportunity to watch Alfa Romeo's most ferocious road car in motion.
Giulia GTA/GTAm gains plenty of improvements over the Quadrifoglio, including changes to the engine, suspension, and aerodynamics. Sauber Engineering, along with Alfa Romeo F1 drivers Kimi Räikkönen and Antonio Giovinazzi, all contributed to the car's conception, having worked perfecting its dynamics at the Balocco Proving Ground.
Both the GTA and the GTAm are fueled by a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 that delivers 533-hp (540 PS / 397 kW) to the rear wheels through a ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox, allowing the car to accelerate from a standstill to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 3.6 seconds. Moreover, thanks to large usage of carbon fiber, Lexan windows rather than glass, center-lock wheels, and a rear seat deletion, the GTA/GTAm are 220 lb (100 kg) lighter than the 3,806 lb (1,726 kg) Quadrifoglio.
From July 8 to 11, you can witness all of the different automobiles tackle the Hillclimb at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
