Electrified RVs aren't anything new. A new camper van from London Electric Vehicle Company combines an electric engine with a gas-powered range extender. As part of a partnership with SylvanSport, Zeus Electric Chassis, Inc. is developing an all-electric SylvanSport RV that, in principle, has a long-range.
When it comes to creating fully customizable electric work vehicle chassis, Zeus and SylvanSport have a lot in common. Unnamed SylvanSport's all-electric RV concept is being developed as part of a new all-electric RV series "Leading The Charge."
As of now, SylvanSport all-electric RV is expected to have all-wheel-drive military standard axles, separate coil spring suspensions at the front and rear, liquid-cooled permanent magnet AC engines, 290-hp (217 kW) and 3,000 lb-ft (4,067 Nm) of torque total output.
Initial measurements for SylvanSport all-electric RV are 25 feet, 12 feet and 3 inches wide and 10 feet tall, with a gross vehicle weight rating of 14,000 lbs. According to reports, a full charge may offer up to 400 miles (644 km) of driving range, although the battery size has not been revealed. Because of this, the anticipated product should have a Level 2 DC rapid charging capability. These figures are likely to alter by the time Zeus and SylvanSport unveil their concepts later this year and in 2022.
