Ford made the debut of their F-Series Super Duty trucks which are 350 lb lighter than previous models due to the aluminum body. Ford left performance details out of the press release and just published info on the structure, frame style, and interior.
The frame is reportedly 24 times stiffer than on previous models.
The new F-series will have 4 cameras that provide a 360 degrees view and few additional cameras improve visibility for towing coaches. The handling is improved by adaptive steering, driver assistance systems like blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, cruise control, and collision warning. Aside from that they also offer LED mirrors, headlamps, and tail lamps.
Regarding the powertrain, Ford said the line will remain the same and specifically, the 6.2-liter V8, 6.8-liter V10, and 6.7-liter turbodiesel V8. All engines have been improved and the 6.2-liter version will be coupled to the new Torqshift-G transmission.
More information on the new 2017 F-Series Super Duty trucks is expected to come out soon
