2016 Detroit: Ford F-150 SVT Receives The SuperCrew Version
by AllAutoExperts | 17 January, 2016
The new Ford F-150 SVT SuperCrew version was presented during Detroit Auto Show and the main new features are the addition of 2 more passenger doors and the 500 lbs weight reduction.
Ford had to increase the wheelbase by 12 inches in order to accommodate the two extra doors and had to use aluminum to obtain that weight reduction.
Aside from the extra space, longer wheelbase, 2 more doors, and less weight, the SuperCrew is the same as the standard model. It gets power from a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 that produces 411 hp and 434 lb-ft of torque.
The power is sent to the all-wheel-drive system via a 10-speed automatic transmission and is also featuring a torque-on-demand system.
David Pericak, Ford performance Director, says that with the new F150 Raptor SuperCrew customers can have more space and comfort and superior off-road capabilities.
