What’s So Fabulous About 2022 Land Rover Defender?
by AutoExpert | 25 February, 2021
Land Rovers are gaining popularity in the last decade. Despite the attractive exterior, the carmaker tends to impress with intriguing specifications and exclusive systems. The 2022 Land Rover is an all-terrain vehicle with a supercharged V8. What does this mean exactly?
So far, this particular Defender V8 is one of the most expected engines compared to a real beast for its supercharged 5.0 -liter V8 which pumps out 518 hp and powers up to 625 Nm of torque. The 2022 Land Rover has now enough power to reach 100km/h in just 5.2 seconds and through 240 km/h top speed. The carmaker’s main focus was to optimize the powertrain calibration to deliver responsive on-road performance and finer off-road control.
The engine is coupled to the eight-speed automatic transmission driving all-wheels. For safer experiences on the road, the 2022 Defender V8 is also equipped with spring and damper rates, and larger anti-roll bars. There’s also the well-known standard Electronic Active Rear Differential with a newer Yaw Controller for a finer tune that corners the vehicle’s prowess.
The Terrain Response system has an exclusive Dynamic program, for better exploiting the Defender’s dynamic and handling balance. According to the carmaker’s statement, this mode “provides a sharper throttle response and bespoke tunning for the Continuously Variable Damping.
Both exterior and interior of Defender V8 are designed to match the driver’s spirit for adventure. The exterior slightly differs from other previous models with a bespoke badging, quad exhausts, 22-inch alloy wheels, and a Narvik Black Roof standard for any 2022 Land Rover Defender V8 you choose. The interior has bespoke seats with Ebony Windsor leather, various suedecloth and some Robustec accents, and the steering wheel, including Alcantara trimmings and sports satin chrome gearshift paddles.
The model will be available in three different colors – Carpathian Grey, Yulong White, and Santori Black. A 110 guise will be available for the same model, with a slight price difference. The price in the U.S wasn’t announced yet, but the first guess is that it will probably start at $85,000.
