Watch the 1914hp Rimac Nevera Quarter-Mile Record!
by AutoExpert | 13 August, 2021
The new Rimac Nevera has landed in California, and DragTimes is already trying it at the Famoso Dragstrip. The automobile debuted on August 8 at the SunsetGT in Los Angeles and will be on exhibit during Pebble Beach's Monterey Car Week this weekend.
We're anxiously awaiting the outcomes of DragTimes' announcement that "epic material" is in the making. It will be considerably faster than the regular Tesla Model S Plaid, with a quarter-mile speed of around 8.6 secs (above 9.2 secs). With first customer deliveries, the Rimac Nevera will become the world's fastest all-electric vehicle.
With a starting price of about €2 million and an emphasis on sporty driving (two-seat hypercar), it lacks the Model S's flexibility and relative cost. Rimac Nevera will be limited to only 150 units. The Rimac Nevera is fitted with a large 120 kWh battery that is intended to provide WLTP distance of up to 550 km (342 miles).
All these are just preliminary numbers. The quad engine system has a great potential of 1.4 MW, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 2 secs.
