Volkswagen ID 7 Tourer Arrives To Redefine Electric Estates
by AutoExpert | 20 February, 2024
Volkswagen has just introduced its latest electric ride, the ID 7 Tourer, and it's getting everyone talking. This stylish estate car is geared towards folks who want luxury without compromising on eco-friendliness.
Set to hit the scene in late 2024, it's gearing up for a showdown with rivals like the BMW i5 Touring and the soon-to-be-released Audi A6 E-tron Avant.
Sizing up at around 4961mm long, 1862mm wide, and 1536mm tall, it's pretty much on par with the ID 7 saloon but a tad shorter than the fresh Volkswagen Passat. But don't let its compactness fool you—it's got a roomy 545-liter boot, expandable to a whopping 1714 liters with the back seats folded down.
Looks wise, it's the slinky, aerodynamic look that Volkswagen nails every day, with a drag coefficient of just 0.24. When it comes to power, you've got two options: the Tourer Pro with a 77 kWh battery and the Pro S with an 86 kWh battery. With a single charge, the Pro S can get you 426 miles, putting it on the top list of long-range electric estates. On top of that, both options will leave you with a kick with a 0-62mph time in less than 7 seconds.
The interior provides a combination of comfort and convenience with a 15-inch touchscreen infotainment display and the new IDA voice assistant system, which aims to make your driving experience as smooth as possible.
If you're keen on kitting out your ride, there are lots of extras you can choose from, including a panoramic roof, massage seats, and a wellness app that tweaks the ambience with customizable lighting, sound, and climate controls.
We still don't have all the information about the ID 7 Tourer's cost in the UK just yet, but we can anticipate a premium starting price of about £55,000.
