Turn Up the Volume: Honda Civic Si Gets New AWE Exhaust Systems
by AutoExpert | 1 September, 2023
Philadelphia-based tuning company AWE has released not one but two new exhaust systems for the Honda Civic Si, just after launching an exhaust system for the Honda Civic Type R. Called the Edition and Track Edition, these exhausts promise to give the Civic Si a sportier and more aggressive auditory experience.
Two Choices, One Goal
While the Edition exhaust aims for a sportier tone, the Track Edition turns things up a notch with a more aggressive, low, and rumbly exhaust note. Both setups feature a unique 3-inch to dual 3-inch catback design, a bullet-style resonator located mid-pipe, and double-walled tips.
Engineering Excellence
Crafted from T304L stainless steel, the exhausts are designed to easily connect with the factory downpipe. However, the Touring Edition uniquely incorporates AWE’s patented drone-canceling 180 Technology, which can also be found in the Audi RS6 and RS7 exhausts by AWE.
Performance Boost
But it’s not just about the sound. The aftermarket exhaust systems also add an extra 10 horsepower and 7 lb-ft of torque to the Civic Si’s 1.5-liter inline-four turbocharged engine, which already produces 200 hp and 192 lb-ft of torque.
Pricing and Options
For those who are budget-conscious, the Track Edition exhaust system with dual chrome silver tips is priced at $1,145, $250 less than the $1,395 Touring Edition. An additional $50 can replace the chrome silver tips with diamond black tips. Acura Integra owners can also opt for this package.
