Toyota Highlander Turns 25 With Special Anniversary Model
by AutoExpert | 18 September, 2024
The Toyota Highlander is turning 25 this year, and to mark the milestone, Toyota has introduced a special 25th Edition of the popular SUV. At first glance, you might not notice much of a difference, but there are a few details that set this version apart.
The 25th Edition adds silver trim along the sides and at the base of the front and rear fascias. It also rides on 20-inch wheels, which are exclusive to this model, and comes in either gray or white. If you look closely, you’ll spot a 25th Edition badge on the rear liftgate.
The doorsills and headrests, wrapped in leather, feature 25th Edition logos, and the puddle lamps also display the 25th Edition branding. Special floormats round out the interior changes. This edition is based on the Highlander Limited Hybrid trim, meaning it comes loaded with features like a JBL sound system, three-zone climate control, and a 12.3-inch center display screen.
It’s worth noting that Toyota is only producing 2,500 units of the 25th Edition for the US market, making it a limited release. The rest of the Highlander lineup also gets a few tweaks for 2025. All hybrid trims now come with all-wheel drive as standard. If you like the Heavy Metal gray paint but miss out on the 25th Edition, you can still get it on the XLE, Limited, and Platinum trims.
The hybrid models also sport a new badge, and the XSE trim now comes with a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster featuring a Sport Mode display. While Toyota hasn’t announced the pricing for the 25th Edition, they have revealed that the base Highlander LE FWD will start at $39,520, which is a modest $250 increase over the previous model. Expect the base price for the 2025 Highlander Hybrid to be around $45,000. The 2025 Highlander is set to go on sale in November.
