One-Of-A-Kind Ducati 750SS By Cevennes Retro Motors Is A Type Of Art
by AutoExpert | 27 September, 2021
The French are passionate, inspiring people who know how to make the best things in life. Cedric Trenquir's art, for instance, has been recognized in national magazines and motorcycle events. The newest hand-built Ducati 750SS by Cevennes Retro Motors makes you want to pour a Cognac and enjoy them both. We invite you to visit the artisan's workshop in Ales, in the Cevennes.
A motorcycle is one of life's classics, and Cedric appreciates being inspired by this environment. With his gorgeous CX500 and the aluminum monocoque dirtbikes that roll out of his shop, he has created something remarkable. Today's serving, his best to date, is inspired by a 750SS Ducati.
His first task was to design a jig to bend tubing around the original bike's motor. The frame is unlike any other Ducati frame ever made in Bologna. The headstock has been extended towards the unusual forward-tilted engine layout. They stretch towards the front engine mounts organically, like a vine around a branch, rather than perfectly homogeneous.
As for the back, it effortlessly suspends the subframe. A Ducati S4R's single-sided swingarm, inspired by nature, perfectly suits the Frenchman's form. The rear is suspended by a Fournales shock with a billet aluminum shell, but the front is stock.
Cedric meticulously planned the parallelogram's form and function. The front Ducati 1098 wheel also includes unique caliper mounting. The bodywork appears to be built for 200 mph even while still. But Cedric shines here. To give it extra volume, the body, tank, and seat construction are doubled aluminum 1.5 mm thick. It's all a work of art.
You could spend an hour opening and closing the distinctive fuel cap before Cedric politely asked you to stop. Also striking are the pedals, which have charred wood inlays instead of grips, matching the handlebars and seat. First, polish and prime the Ducati engine. Induction is a piece of art with all links handcrafted by Cedric.
The exhaust, with its sweeping stainless steel lines caressing the engine, completely overshadows the induction system. In the polished alloy belly pan, one substance blends into another. That stated, we invite you to simply admire this bespoke Ducati 750SS by Cevennes Retro Motors motorcycle.
