There Is A New Chinese Toyota Camry Rival, The Chery Arrizo 8
by AutoExpert | 12 April, 2022
To compete with the likes of Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, and Kia K5, Chery is launching the new Arrizo 8 sedan. Beijing's Auto Show was supposed to host the model's debut, but that event was postponed, therefore Chery has shared the first images online.
A large grille, LED lights on both ends, chrome-infused accents, and a curving roofline are characteristic features of a contemporary ICE-powered car. The Chery Arrizo 8's dashboard follows current design trends and is simple and uncluttered.
The digital cockpit is free-standing, with twin 12.3-inch screens, visibly integrated temperature vents, a two-tone flat-bottom steering wheel, and a high-mounted center tunnel. The leather, wood, and metal upholstery appear to be more expensive than in previous Chery versions.
The engine range will comprise a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine with 194 horsepower and 214 lb-ft of torque, as well as a more powerful turbocharged 2.0-liter engine with 250 hp and 288 lb-ft of torque, according to Car News China. A seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox will send power to the front axle in both circumstances.
The price hasn't been announced, but the local press says Arrizo 8 would probably start at ¥140,000, or about $22,000. In the third quarter of 2022, the Chery Arrizo 8 is slated to arrive in Chinese showrooms.
