The Volkswagen Magotan Is Setting Trends With Triple-Screen Interface In China
by AutoExpert | 18 March, 2024
The most recent sedan from Volkswagen, the Magotan, which is similar to the new Passat in Europe and the Superb from Skoda, aims to standardize three-screen layouts in China. Specifically, the new Magotan includes a rectangle screen on the passenger side in addition to the digital instrument panel and the big touchscreen in the middle.
This characteristic is reminiscent of the layout found in the newest models from Porsche and Mercedes-Benz.
Since Chinese buyers are so keen on cutting-edge innovation, we think it's a smart move for Magotan to include this function. The sedan will have three dashboard screens, making it the first MQB Evo-based car to do so. However, when or if this configuration will be available in other countries is yet unknown.
Also, the images shared on Chinese social media provide the clearest view of Magotan's exterior that we have seen so far. We already noticed that this model shares almost the same dimensions as the most recent Passat, but it has its own unique cosmetic touches.
The new Volkswagen Magotan will include a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that produces 217 horsepower, as revealed in filings with the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Moreover, there have been rumors in Chinese media that the vehicle might possibly come with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that produces 158 horsepower.
