The AMG GT's range has a new leader - Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series. The series got the ultimate upgrade and can now deliver up to 1,111horsepower. And just like that, the Black series beomes way powerful than the AMG One hypercar.
The original Black Series is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 delivering up to 720 hp and 799 Nm of torque. This AMG-GT Series was developed especially to set a new production car lap record at the Nurburgring last year by combining it with its aggressive aero. But this wasn't fast enough for the German Opus Automotive Tuner and they wanted to prove that it can be faster and better and created an elegant monster.
The upgraded Mecercedes-AMG GT Black Series is nicknamed Opus Binary Edition is available in two different states of tune and delivers 1,111 horsepower. Quite a number for the future monster on the road compared to the original 720 hp. It's more powerful then the AMG One by 57 hp, but is still a great performer for racers enthusiasts.
It's good to know that the MErcedes-AMG GT Black Series, the tuner modified the turbochargers, reinforced the gearbox by adding special forged pistons, reinforce the connecting rods, machined cylinder heads, and there's also a modified fuel system tot he engine. The only requirements for the 825 hp upgraded kit are the ECU and a transmission control unit software remap.
As you could guess already, the upgraded Black Series will be sold in three available kits - 825 hp, 920 hp ready for sale in mid-April, and 1,111 hp- and will be available starting June. The most powerful will have the range-topper after extensive dyno, road, and track testing on the Nurburing.
