The Toyota Crown Crossover RS Landscape Arrives With Enhanced Performance, Elevated Style

For the 2024 model year, Toyota is making some small changes to the Crown Crossover in Japan, and one of those changes is the introduction of the Landscape special edition. Following last year's premiere of the Crown Outdoor Concept, the Crown Landscape takes its cues from it.

However, Toyota went with a subtler wheel arrangement. Nevertheless, difficult terrains are no match for the 245/60R18 all-terrain tires mounted on the handmade 18-inch wheels. With its elevated suspension, the special Toyota Crown Crossover RS Landscape is also 1 inch taller than the regular Crown Crossover.

In addition to allowing for a more elevated driving posture and improved sight, Toyota claims that the greater ground clearance is useful for avoiding obstructions. Crown Landscape upgrades include a higher ride height, new wheels, and "Gori Gori Black" paint-finished, bolt-on fender extensions that become broader. Urban khaki and black are the external color schemes that reflect the idea.

A towing hitch, bigger rear fog lights, and red mud flaps are other features of the production model. While the roof basket in the promotional images is an aftermarket addition, a roof rack is also available as an optional extra. Among the few interior changes are the 60:40 split folding rear seats, which are useful for transporting longer objects like surfboards, and the dashboard's gold Landscape branding.

As a basic model for the Landscape special edition, the electric engine of the Crown Crossover RS remains unchanged. With the help of the electric motors, the 2.4-liter gasoline engine, with the help of electric motors, can generate a total of 268 horsepower. It uses Toyota's electronic "E-Four Advanced" technology in conjunction with a six-speed automatic transmission to distribute power to all four wheels.

With manufacturing set to cease in December 2024, the Toyota Crown Crossover RS Landscape is now only available in Japan. The special edition is priced at ¥6,850,000 ($45,262), and an additional ¥44,990 ($297) is needed for the roof rack. A whopping ¥2,450,000 ($16,181) more than the entry-level X, but only ¥150,000 ($990) more than the full-spec RS, this version of the Toyota Crown Crossover becomes the most expensive in Japan.
