The seven-seated Rexton is one of the Ssangyong projects that recently had a plentitude of upgrades and styling changes and is now one of the Korean firm’s most powerful vehicles. With a new eight-speed gearbox and 2.2 diesel engine, the vehicle is a real-life performer on the road.
The maximum output of the engine was upgraded from 178 bhp to 199 bhp and 421 Nm to 439 Nm power of torque. Also, the Korean firm confirmed tuning the system to deliver a stronger low-end torque, resulting in a 0-62 mph time of 11.9 seconds.
The newly introduced eight-speed automatic gearbox was successfully twinned with the upgraded engine. This exact update reduces weight and vibrations while improving efficiency. The four-wheel system drive includes both high and low-ratio modes and off-road settings. There’s also, a WLTP combined cycle of 32.2 mpg achievements, and after the testing process gives us the CO2 emissions of just 225 g/km.
The Towing stability is supported by the new Trailer Sway Control. Rexton also has been updated with an exterior makeover which includes a revised rear end and a front end featuring a totally new grille and LED headlights.
The seven-seated vehicle will be available in two trim levels – Ventura replaces the old ELX and a top-speed Ultimate that comes with 18-inch alloy wheels and a 9.0-inches infotainment touchscreen, heated seats, and other upgrades.
The price starts at $52800 for the Ventura model and $69,000 for the Ultimate variant.
