Although the viability of electric vehicles is still questionable, we can not but admit that the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive is an impressive car.
The four electric motors, each of which drives one of the four wheels, are producing a total output of 700 hp and no less than 1,000 Nm of torque, values that allow this creation to sprit from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 250 km/h. This car, which embodies a true force of engineering, was regarded as the fastest mass electric vehicle in the world, yet it is possible that this title to pass to a US manufacturer, Detroit Electric, which plans to put into production the SP 01 model.
The British journalist, Chris Harris, had the opportunity to feel the difference between an electric vehicle and a combustion engine car while driving the new Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG on a circuit, one of his conclusions being that the German engineering art is much better than he had initially expected.
